Fedora 9 インストール

こんにちは、五十嵐智です。自宅の PC に Fedora 9 をインストールしました。ハマりかけました。

"Fedora Core" じゃなくて、今は単に "Fedora" なのですね。知りませんでしたよ。そんないい加減な Linux ユーザですが、元々 UNIX の人だったので、Linux は何かとわかりやすくて、サブのマシンでずっと使ってます。あ、メインは Windows ね。

Fedora Project から ISO イメージをダウンロードして CD 6 枚を作成し、何事もなく無事にインストール。特記すべきことはありませんでした。

ただ、立ち上げた後、日本語が入力できない。キーボードが壊れたかと思いましたが、日本語のパッケージがインストールされていなかったようです。危なくハマるところでした。

Fedora 9で日本語を入力するには－＠IT

　 Fedora 9のインストールメディアには、日本語変換関連パッケージの定義ファイルに不具合がある。従って、.isoをダウンロードしてインストールメディア用を作成する方法でFedora 9を新規インストールすると、日本語入力のためのパッケージがインストールされず、そのままでは日本語の入力ができない。

この記事に書いてある通り、日本語入力パッケージをインストールする必要があります。

yum -y groupinstall 'Japanese Support' --exclude=xorg-x11-server-Xorg

記事では "-y" オプションは書いてありませんが、どのみち、yes しか答えませんので、自動的にすべてインストールするように、"-y" オプションをつけて実行しました。

この後、［システム］->［設定］->［ユーザ向け］->［入力メソッド］で「入力メソッドの機能を有効にする」にチェックを入れる。「入力メソッド設定ツール」を閉じれば設定終了。ログインしなおして、日本語が入力できることを確認。

という具合でした。

先日買い換えた地デジ対応ハイビジョン(フルハイビジョンではない)のテレビをモニターとして使ってます。これで子供たちも自由に使えます。私は Windows 機占有。Linux を使うときはリモートで。Secure-SBM のメンテナンスもこれでやってみようと思ってます。

久しぶりに Linux をインストールしました。
コマンドラインからコマンド入力などをしていたら、子供たちに「なんかドラマみたいで、パパ、カッコイイ！」と謂われました。なんかうれしい(笑
