TGIF: プラットフォーム
mkamiya さんが「プラットフォームという言葉」というブログを書いていますが，Mac (Apple の方ね) という表現が「プラットフォーム」という言葉のイメージに一番近いのではないかと思っています．Windows といえば OS だし，DOS/V マシンといえばハードウェア．その点，Mac には OS X という OS があるにもかかわらず，全部まとめて "Mac" と呼んでいます．これが「プラットフォーム」なのではないかと思うのです．
IT の世界以外で「プラットフォーム」と言われて真っ先に思いつくのは駅のプラットフォームです．電車に人が乗り降りするあのプラットフォーム．銀河鉄道 999 で主人公鉄郎が泣きながらメーテルの乗る 999 を見送るあのプラットフォーム．
線路という基盤があって，電車というサービスがあり，そこを利用するためのプラットフォーム．線路が無ければ電車は来ないし，そういうところをプラットフォームとは呼ばないですよね．
では「『社会』プラットフォーム」という言葉で表現されるプラットフォームとは何か．線路に相当する基盤があって，社会に対するサービスが提供されているときに，そのサービスを利用するためのモノ全体が「社会プラットフォーム」なのだと思います．
月に一度の飲み会があるのですが，そうした中から生まれてきた作家や翻訳家さんたちにとっては，その飲み会がプラットフォームだったんだろうなと思ったりします．
今日はなんだか，情報セキュリティとは関係ない話になってしまいました．
"TGIF" とは，"Thank God, It's Friday!" の略．「花の金曜日」略して「花金」(笑) 毎週金曜恒例のお遊び/オタクモードです．
